Hi everyone. I am a poor scottish steel player (owner lol) in need of some assistance!
In the early part of next year, I`m hoping to become the proud owner of......drum roll......a new Millenium M3!!!! yay!
I will be flying to Dallas (courtesy of a free flight from Sky TV) to pick up my new axe.
Can anyone help me out with where to find cheap accomodation near to the MSA factory in Dallas? You see, my piggy bank will be so frought with anxiety at the prospect of spending $5295.00 on a steel, that she may not want to part with much more! ha ha!
If I am lucky, I might even persuade her to part with her money in December (nice xmas pressie for me).
I`m hoping to come over for about a week to take in some sights too, maybe meet Pam Ewing (to tell her she should have went with JR ages ago cos he had more money, fancier office, and better cigars).

Any help would be much appreciated!

och aye the noo!

Davie,
If you left it till the beginning of March you could take in the Dallas show and get a good deal for accomodation at the Harvey Hotel.

Yes, and there will probably be a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and the MSA folks would probably bring the guitar to the show for you.

Davy, all you had to do was email "Rainbow Travel Ireland", and I would look after your accomodation requirements while in Dallas. Dont you know I have contacts worldwide!
Do as Allan suggests,go in March, catch the Steel Guitar Show, meet the guys at MSA, fill your bags with goodies, have a rip-roaring weekend, and then head for Scotland with a load of good memories.....money well spent.

OK Here`s one for you. I have to provide TWO destinations for my free flight! The options are, Atlanta,Boston,Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Raleigh, Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington DC.

Which one is closest to Dallas?

I may have to fly to another airport and get a connecting flight, if my first selection of Dallas isnt available!

My geography of USA isnt very good! (if you see a scotsman wandering around aimlessly in your neighbourhood on the 9th March, please point me in the right direction ha ha)

Davie, I happen to have an atlas sitting here on my desk. Of the cities you listed, Atlanta is the closest one to Dallas.

Good luck on your trip!

Wow! I would have guessed Chicago but according to Mapquest you're right. Dallas is only 782 miles from Atanta.

I'm moving this topic to "Steel Players" because it has little to do with "Pedal Steel".
