In the select market of crossover carbon fiber nylon-string guitars (that’s a mouthful), Emerald’s X20 line stands out from the others. All-carbon fiber construction makes for a perfectly, consistently stable instrument that won’t go out of tune, and the onboard B-Band UST A3T preamp and pickup make amplification easy and dynamic. The Venetian-style cutaway (with bevel), lower bout arm bevel, and upper bout soundhole all make for playability and brings the guitar’s voice closer to your ears. The fretboard has a gentle radius that’s easy on the hands, and a soft C profile neck that will feel familiar to anyone who’s played a steel string guitar or two. This is a great value for an essentially new carbon fiber crossover classical.
