I have an old Special 130 with the Scorpion Plus speaker in it. It's loud as hell but I've started having a little weirdness with it. I cleaned the pots with Deoxit -- that seems to have helped a bit. BUT, when the reverb is switched in, the amp loses mid and bass, and it induces hum. It sounds almost sparkly.
There are few people who work on these in San Diego and I don't want to throw a bunch of money at it.
Thoughts?
Also, what do the Ken Fox chip mods do for this?

You say it messes up when the reverb is......switched in.
I take that to mean that you are using it with the footswitch.
Does it work OK without the footswitch?
Also......Do the other footswitch functions work OK (channel switching, etc)? |

Shouldn't have used the term switched. SB as the reverb is faded in. Footswitch use is irrelevant. _________________ Just 6-string lap steel. Mostly I play geetar and sing. |
