I think you've got that backwards, Fender never built guitars for Sho~Bud, it was the other way around.  |

| I agree with Clyde. The later model Mavericks had the " ashtray" key head. It appears that a former owner had stripped off the contact paper and painted the body. FWIW: You may want to look elsewhere. If this guitar runs true to form, you will spend more time tinkering than playing. |

Looks to me like a painted maverick.
Limited student model 3 pedals and one knee lever lowering strings 2 and 8.
Only the good Lord knows what they did to the fretboard and why?
If (And e-Bay is always a big if) it's all there, would be a decent starter guitar, but very limited by todays standards.
I'd really miss the lowered 4th string and the F lever.
Could play most of the tab in Winnie's book.
Maybe try to knock the price down???
Better still, save up a more cash for a professional S-10 model with at least 3&3.

| I would definitely try to get some pictures of the undercarriage. It looks like a later maverick that someone has painted. Considering what all has been done I'd either try to get a better deal on it or keep looking. I only see two pedals and I know that some of the later mavericks did without the C pedal and were able to lower the 4th string along with string 8 so this one may be setup like this, unless I'm just not seeing the third pedal in the picture. I started on a maverick and actually enjoyed playing it and still do from time to time but it has its limitations. |

| If you view the original ad on the Richmond 'Craigslist', there are three photos available (none of the undercarriage unfortunately). Looking closely at one of the views, the 'Sho-Bud' logo can be clearly seen stamped on the key head. |

| Thanks for all the responses. I was curious and knew you guys would have more info than I could come up with. I have a S-10 BMI 3x5 but was looking for something easy on the wallet that I could leave setup in the house so I didn't have to setup my BMI every week to practice after gigs. Those 3 flights of stairs take a toll after a while. haha. I'm going to pass, looks more like a headache than solution. Thanks again for everyone's input. |

Second floor is for guys who play Teles.
First floor is for steelers, bass players and those guys who hang out with musicians called "Drummers".....

Nickolas, This is definitely a Sho-bud Maverick painted blue. I offered to buy it, but he will not ship it.
It will bring more than the price for parts. The case is worth $100.00, pedals and bar over a hundred, not mention the other parts. This steel is easy to work on if needed to play it. |
