It's been a while since I started working on this project. My Carter Starter. Well, slowly but surely. Just one pic for now.

Hi Will. It is true Carter Starter with my own personal touch. The only foreign thing on this guitar is the neck wich I made myself. Thank you. |

VERY nice looking guitar. Nice neck, too.
When someone asks what guitar you have and you say "Carter starter", they may roll their eyes until they see it.
I see you have 4 knees. Are you adding any other knees or pedals?

Now that is one hell of a transformation!
Carter should have done something like this in the first place! |

While this is a great upgrade, it would have raised the price point of the Starter. The point was to keep the guitar inexpensive to where people could get into the PSG for under a grand. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Hi Carlos,
I think you should replace that keyhead with a Carter pro kehead, and most certainly replace those aweful angle aluminum pedals! |

Thank you Pat.
Unfortunately, the undercarriage will not allow one to do that, unless you do some mayor changes.

Thank you Greg. Please keep in mind that I'm not a Luthier or anything close to it. I just love doing this, actually for personal satisfaction.

Richard, I thought my Carter Starter needed a face lift so a came up with this.
Brian, I wanted to leave the guitar as original as possible. Changing the key head or anything else would defeat the originality of the instrument. This is my opinion. Thank you.

Thank you Carlos, Point taken! Any particular reason you replaced the neck? What kind of wood did you use? |

Brian I replaced the neck because it was made of maple plywood "not the best thing" I also wanted to make it look more ample. The wood I used is called "MAHOE"

Carlos did you remove the original mica? If so did you apply lacquer to get that super finish! |

Thank you Sonny, yes they are. I scraped off the paint and brought out some shine into them. |

Brian the mica was peeling off in some places so I removed it completely and lacquered the solid maple cabinet. "Well I was surprised the cabinet was solid maple". (not plywood) |

Hi Bob. Thank you. Yes I did polished the legs too. They were scratched and dull so I shined them up a bit. Now the guitar looks nice and clean.
