If I stand up and look down at the length of my steel and cross my eyes it turns into a T-10 !

Try it !

D-14? We're getting into harp territory, I think? Besides, it would take 2 men and a boy to carry it and set it up. With enough strings, you don't need pedals or knee levers.

Reese showed me a S20 the first time I went to the old factory in Dallas. Seems like I met Danny Shields there, too! Then I made it to the Longhorn to meet & hear Bud Carter! at Reese's suggestion, when I told him I loved western swing! The S20 went from one tuning right into the other, I think!

Howabout a T12? A T12 with a "Segway" frame, so that it can move around by itself...

I saw a double 14 Mullen many years ago. Belonged to a Tom Webb as I recall.

Lee Wheeler built at least one.

I can confirm there WAS the D-14 Bob Grossman refers to, and Tom Webb was its owner. He lugged it into a Jeff Newman I attended in Concord, CA, about 1978 or so, and said it weighed 100 lbs OUT of the case! Believe it was a Mullen or Wheeler.

I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but I sort of remember hearing about a 16 string Sho-Bud in the 60s that belonged to Buddy C. I think he even recorded with it.

If I remember right, Buddy C told me the S16 was like a S-8 with all the strings
"doubled up" like a mandolin, to give you a S-16.

Drew that S20 looks like it is just two 10-string necks side-by-side. Is that the idea? Are they E9 and C6?
