Hello Brother Steelers and Friends!
Just a quick announcement about our Steel Jam coming up on April the 24th. It will be Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm. If you'd like to be a part of the show, please let me know asap, as it is always a full lineup. This jam we have Steve Palousek, his wife Donna (great singer), and Wally Moyers coming as our special guests from out of town.
We will have our Steel Jam at the Lumberyard in Roscoe, which is a wonderful
venue . Cody is always eager to have us there, and treats the steel players very well.
They have great food also, which is enjoyed by all of us!
So, make plans to come out and hear some great STEEL GUITAR Music and enjoy the food and fellowship. See y'all there!

I just got a call from Cody, the owner of the Lumberyard in Roscoe, Texas....and we will have the big stage at our steel jam, and Cody has just confirmed that Marty Stuart and his band will follow our steel jam. So, there will be a nice crowd to hear the steel show portion, and we will all be there to enjoy Marty Stuart. If Gary Carter reads this, and is coming with Marty, we would love to invite him to play on the steel jam with us. (and of course, Marty as well) So Yall come on out and have a great afternoon of steeling, and some great country music with The Marty Stuart Show after that.

We will have Dwayne Rabbit Pack on drums, Tony Adams on bass, and Kacey Toliver playing lead and doing some vocals, for whoever might need a song sung. Steve is ready to play, Wally Moyers is ready, Danny Letz is nervous, but ready, Randall Palmore is coming, Jim Keeney is coming, Randy Hughes, Shady Mitchell, Leon Langley is coming from San Angelo, Rex Mayfield is also coming, Ray Jenkins is also going to grace us with his presence, and myself. If I forgot to mention someone....I'll put up another post in a bit. All in all it should be a great afternoon of steelin.

Hey Larry, Sounds like you got a great line up. I am just two far away or would come and be a fan. On top of it all the Marty Stuart Show. Can't go wrong with that. Say Hey to Shady Mitchell for me. We go a way back, Stardust Club In Midland, 1982. Run into him in
St. Louis a few years back but have not heard anything about him since. You have to watch him though, He will give you a hair cut when you are not watching, ha-ha.
And Yes I have kinfolks in Abilene, Oscar Rose, Rose & Sons Construction from the early days of Abilene. Good Luck, J.R. Rose

Hey Larry, Question? In the early eighty's Hoyle Nix of Bib Wills fame had a Sat. nite dance in a big old building like maybe a skating rink. I think it was in Big Springs but could of been in Roscoe. Could it be the same place? Thanks for any info, J.R. Rose

LT- Many thanks for your leadership.. Thanks to folks at the Lumberyard for hosting. I think yesterday's event was the best WSTGA gathering to date. Thanks to all the back-up musicians. It was good seeing and visiting with everyone and having the opportunity to play. All the steel players were great. Marty and Kenny were really nice. What a day!

It was a wonderful jam for the WTSGA. Thanks to Cody and the Lumberyard for hosting it. Marty Stewart and Cousin Kenny sat on a bench and watched for a while. Telewacker Bubba Stephens had Cousin Kenny grinning and I'd never seen him smile before. Both of them are genuine good folks. After our jam, they put on just an A number one, top notch show. Thanks to our backup band, Kacey Toliver, Dwaine Pack, Tony Adams, and Wildman Bubba Stephens for excellent backup. And to Doyle Mitchell, I meant, I wanted a set of your silver picks before you quit making them, not before you die. As usual, the words failed me.
