As a follow up to my post asking for ideas on how to extend the legs on an inexpensive and very portable stool, I present the Extend-O-Matic 2000.

The engineering and design genius of forumite Jon Light has provided a solution. His tireless hours of toil and effort shall not go unnoticed. Hmm...maybe they will go unnoticed.

In all seriousness, not having to carry a pac-a-seat to practices and small gigs (especially in New York where cars are few and subway stairs are long) is extrememly helpful.

Way back when, it all started with a folding seat from Target. Actually, I think it was last Tuesday. Oh well, it ended up with the Extend-O-Matic 2000:

Notice how easily it folds up for convenient attachment to your case:

(edited to remove my gargantuan photos and reference Roger's more reasonable renditions)

I'll stick with the Pac Seat as it gives me a place to put my volume pedal, effects, chords, extra strings, etc. With this set up you'd still need another case to carry that stuff...........JH

Roger: I appreciate your shrinkage help. Perhaps you could shoot me a quick e-mail and tell me how you did it? Thanks!

Jerry: You are certainly correct that this doesn't obviate the need for storage somewhere. If I can pack what I need in a gym-type bag and sling it over my shoulder, it helps alot. One less box.

In my mind, it's not a replacement, merely an alternative for certain situations. As a bonus, it was cheap.
