Please Note: These serial numbers apply to D-10's only. After each number, the letter "D" is stamped. Great care has been taken to verify the accuracy of this information with various "Push-Pull Experts" around the U.S. However, we cannot guarantee the information given in the above chart is 100% accurate.

In the years 1964 and 1965, it appears that serial numbers were taken off of the sales invoice; and that these guitars were not consecutively numbered (as they may have used an invoice or 2 in between guitar sales for pickup sales or string sales, etc.)

Also, at a certain point, it is possible that the endplates were serialized ahead of guitar construction and put on a shelf, and then taken down and assembled into a guitar at a later date. Therefore, it is possible that some numbers may fall into one year earlier or later than shown on the chart.

I assume, then, that we can't determine the actual quantity of guitars that were shipped because there were gaps in the number-sequence? Or is that only true during the early 'invoice #' years?

Great to hear from you, and thank you for the information. Yes, I did purchase it on Reverb. The seller said that it had originally been sold, but the buyers wife found out a few hours later and made him cancel the deal.

I also had seen it earlier, than it popped back up a few days later and I was able to buy it.

Never had or played a true bolt-on, so I'm thrilled to get this opportunity.

Hi Mike, I too have a Bolt on SD 10 not sure of the year but someone told me they did a re run in about 74 and I think mine is in too good condition to be a 60's guitar but I just dont know...... soundwise its "The Keeper" till the end my other Emmons does not come close

I have a bolt on D-10 Emmons with a changer end plate stamped serial# of 2605 and it does NOT have a "D" or anything stamped after it. The list provided on the forum is stated for serial #'s that include a "D" after the number. A friend of mine has the same Emmons steel guitar and his is stamped 2615, and nothing else stamped after that number. His is a 1966 year build, would I be safe to say that mine is a 1966 as well?????

It was converted too a Sd 10 when I got it.

Johnnie, what does your response have to do with my question? I have found a lot of discrepancies with the chart provided via Bill Lowe......even Jack Strayhorn made mention of it's company endorsement. Even Bill stated "I know its not exact"....

Guys I’m trying to find the year on a D10 a friend has. It was his dads. Super clean and nice looking but the number is 6627 and I can’t find any info on a number that high.

Jim, that looks like it's probably a 1982 guitar.
After they started making Legrands, this is how they numbered the final push-pulls.

Looks like that has Legrande pedals? Which would be factory.

I have a 1981 "6413" It shipped in October of 1981 - according to Emmons.
