I remember Buck Grantham using it in Branson and it sounded great. I wouldn't have any problems using one.

I like mine a lot, although I am using the Zoom Msg-50 at the moment. The Hardwire did have some weird sounding artifacts as the note decayed, if you listened closely in a quiet room. Meaningless on stage where you can't hear at that fine a level: always sounded great live.

I'm using the Zoom so I can have a single pedal and switch among presets with multiple effects combined. Also runs on batteries for one- or two-set gigs: one less wire to trip over.

Regarding the modulations during decay referred to by Dan, I've found that using the Hall setting eliminates those, and I consider the reverb tail to be lush, smooth, and free of modulation artifacts. I've used a few reverb generators including the MPX-1 and the Neunaber Wet pedal, and I feel the RV-7 is as good as or better than any of those, FWIW.

I have only used two digital reverb pedals, a BOSS RV-5 and a Digitech Hardwire RV-7. Of the two, I prefer the Digitech, mainly because it's supposedly true bypass.

Both pedals sound okay when you're playing all by yourself, but in a band situation I find the digital reverbs basically disappear in the wash of the cymbals unless you're sitting directly in the beam of the speaker. In band situations with a drummer, onboard spring reverbs work best, in my opinion.
