Hey Manny thanks for posting. Hope to see a lot of folks there. There were about 15 RISGA members at the PSGA show in Norwalk earlier this month, it was great!

Check out our RISGA Facebook Group page. It's open to the public for viewing, but you need to request access from a member if you want to post (click the button on the left side of the page to request). The address for the meeting/jam is on the Facebook page and I'm going to load some other helpful materials before the meeting.

I talked to Roger Trahan. He suggested "Jingle Bells"in the keys of C and E. Back in the 60`s Santo & Johnny cut a recording of it and called it "Twistin Bells". I guess I can back off trying to play "What Child is This".

Jim, I think Facebook "Group" pages can only be viewed by Facebook members. Every time I try to view the RISGA group I get a Facebook sign-up page saying "...the page may only be visible to an audience you're not in." I went through this last month with the "lap steel lunatics" Group. I can't access that either because I'm not registered with Facebook. Unfortunately groups are not viewable by the public, as other Facebook pages are.

As usual the quarterly meeting was a lot of fun. The only problem, the new president Jim Davis was acting like Donald Trump and the new v.p. Josephine Vierra carried on like Hillary Clinton. Just joking, they did a good job. Freddie Krause, you were amusing. It`s about time you showed up with Ron Cote. You both pick well, even though Freddie hangs low behind his steel. We are looking forward to the February 28th meeting in a new location at the Tiverton, RI VFW 12-4pm. We are thankful for the diplomatic actions of Jim Davis for getting us that room. Also long range plans are in the preliminary stage for a steel show at that VFW in the fall of 2016. Doug Beaumier, why don`t you suprise RISGA by comming to the Feb. 28 meeting.

Holy cow I don't even know how to respond to all of this information.....mixed up names, can't get on Facebook, new location for meeting, a steel show announcement, Donald Trump and Jingle Bells, all in the same post!
Maybe I'll just say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Smile
Yeah, that's it....

Merry Christmas Tony, Speaking of that location, you probably read in the RICMA Newsletter about the Tiverton, RI holding very successful dances. Joe Lepage from your old award winning band, "The Gamblers" is on keys etc and Harry Teachman is on steel. They are called NBC, (Nothing But Country), one hot band that draws huge crowds. I go every Sunday. Jim Davis books other bands as well like "Branded" and "Cindy Lane & the Double EE". I play in both bands. Also our steel guitar friend Jay Andrews from Nashvile has cousins who attend the VFW. They tell me he is planning a summer visit. How`s that for a mouthfull?

Manny I had the pleasure of hooking up with Joe and Dave Winsor last summer when I filled in for Harry Teachman. Joe's harmony with Joann is terrific...they remind me very much of the old Gamblers band. Looks like the Tiverton VFW is making an important commitment to country music, which they have been doing for a long time. I'll look forward to attending RISGA meetings when I get back this summer.
