LJ came through on his tour of radio stations, bought me coffee at the Denny's (Thanks, LJ!) and I had a fine time being regaled with stories.
He left me this, along with his hit single Icon Super Star. There's J.D. Maness, Tom Parker, George Strait and more names than I can remember,
but he remembers them all--even Gus Hardin, whom I used to play with. He's had quite a career in the music scene, still energetically working
and net-working stations; it's all about the people for Uncle Leo, and it was a pleasure to finally get together.

Lots of fun, Joachim; he's a real original, ideas unlike the beat/country persona he posts, and a self-effacing approach to music not unlike mine.
I gotta say: he knows or has known EVERYBODY. No need to make it up if it's true, he said, or words to that effect.
The time passed well and fast, the highlight of my year back in town; a real brother.
I say this knowing you won't get the big-head, Leo. Hit the road; see ya around the rodeo. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

It's funny; I usually know about the comings and goings of the geese; wrote a song about it once.
I think they've gone south with the exception of the ones that winter here at the little lakes, but there aren't many this year.
I'm glad I was right about what I was right about, even though I don't remember what it was (but I have an idea what it was).
Hope to see you next March or so.
We've got to stop meeting like this. |
