I found a way to squeeze it all into a 4 Rack SKB.
Now the fun part! |

Been using the same rig with a Rick Johnson cab. Love it. Stay tuned for my combo amp version Rick is working on right now. |

Gosh, if you're running into a V8, do you really need the SGBB too? _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

I probably don't need the black box but since I have
one and it fits in the rack why not throw
It in the loop. The way I look at it it's another
tube to warm up the sound. Also' it gives
me the tuner out jack |

Here's a short sample recorded
On my iPhone running through
my Behringer stage monitor with
a 5" speaker. I can't wait to hear
it through the12" Eminence I ordered.
Excuse my doodling but try and listen
to the way the .011 comes through on the
upper register.

Sounds very good Bob. Is your steel really flipped?
I have a similar rig with a V8, a BB, and a wet reverb. My power amp is a matrix module that is mounted in the back of the speaker cabinet. I also put a Strymon Brigadier delay pedal into the signal chain. It's a really wonderful sounding set-up. It sounds great with a 15 inch JBL K130, but it sounds even better with 2 12 inch JBLs (a K120 and a D120f).
I use the BB for basically the same reasons you listed. I could do without it, but I have it so why not use it. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |

Yeah it's a lefty. I'm also looking to add a Strymon Delay down the road. I initially decided to go this route after hearing Randy Beavers recommendation. I also play in a band that is committed to playing all in-ear so this choice seemed like a viable way to go. |

Sounds fantastic bob! I've got a sgbb now and a v8 on order that outta be here in a few weeks. Was very happy to see this thread this morn. The string separation is really nice and the low end is just...thick and fat. Love it. Can't wait to get mine. Will be Running it thru my 112 at home but straight into the board for gigs. We're all in ears too.
I'm a lefty too btw, but play steel, fiddle and guitar right. Never tried anything left handed. Maybe I'd sound better thanks for posting the vid! |

Sounds great Bob
I ran a V8 setup for a while and it worked out great. I ended up taking the "plunge" and making the step up to the Octal Revelation.
It's hard to beat the sound of an octal tube setup.
The recorded sample sounds really good and it looks like the Tone Block is matching up well with the V8.
Congrats on your new rig. _________________ Zum SD 10 Hybrid, Zum D 10 Hybrid, Emmons SD 10 P.P.
