I guess no one has invented a single floor pedal that gives the sound of vibes. They can make one that sounds like a dobro, one that sounds like a sitar, one that will play octaves, etc. but no one seems to be able to produce a pedal that gives the sound of the vibes. Korg has a multi-pedal arrangement, but I don't need all of the bells and whistles that go with it. Just one pedal that gives my guitar the sound of the vibes.

Don't know about Vibes, but there is a cheap as dirt way to get the steel to sound like "steel drums" ..I first got the idea from Ronnie Bennett (Steel builder) from Liverpool.

Get a long thin piece of card board, no thicker than the cardboard on a cigarette packet, but just about 1/2 inch wide. Treadle the cardboard over and under each string at the pick/up end..closer to the end the better. Now forget steel licks, try simulate what steel drums would play....you will get that slight out of tune muted tone like steel drums. perhaps use it in numbers like "Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffet Very Happy
