Below is a link to a video I took in the GFI room of Gene playing 'Thumbs Carlisle' style.....'Take me as I am or let me go'. I wandered into the room just in time to make the video. I hope that you all enjoy it as much as I do.

I'm sorry but I do not know the name of the lady playing bass.

I wonder if that is the same instrument Gene was playing at Tom Bradshaw's 1995 convention, Father's Day. Wish I had a video. Gene played a "Thumbs" style jazz number that just about brought the house down. I was SUPER impressed.

Donna Dunard on bass. Her husband Duane had a shop or has a shop in Troy, Mo. called Duane's Music and they've got a few pedal steels.

I shouldn't question Brett, but I don't think that is Donna on Bass. Duane does still have a music store in Troy, Mo. A great store and a good guy to deal with.

Gene had two personal guitars he usually had with him. Both had a steel neck and a fretted neck, but one had pedals and the other didn't. Not that he really needed pedals.

Gene played an red MCI double neck with a 12 string pedal steel neck and an 8 string fretted pedal neck at a Tom Bradshaw Show in Concord CA.
Was there more than one show?
I bought that guitar and had it until it was stolen from my garage about approximately four years ago.
Loved Gene and his playing. He was a friend to me.
