I've been asked to post this, with a sad heavy heart, that my dear friend and brother Ronnie Symank passed away peacefully this afternoon around 1:00 PM
Ronnie gave his cancer a big and hard fight.
He was a brave and loving man, a great steel guitar player.
I really can't write more right now, I'll post more when I can handle it.
Ronnie was a reborn christian man that loved the Lord.
I'll write more when I know more. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

Such a terrible loss to his family and our community.
Ronnie was not only a great steel player, but a really great human being. His personality was tops and he gave his knowledge to all who would hear.
He is truly missed and blessings and condolences to his family... _________________ Ray Harrison

I am so very sad to hear of this terrible news.
I loved to hear Ronnie play the steel guitar he loved so very much.
I was so glad to see Ronnie this year in Dallas & I
did get a chance to talk to him & Dennis.
Ronnie was one of my favorite players to watch & listen to playing the steel guitar.
He REALLY got into the music!!
My deepest condolences to his families & friends.

So sorry to hear about Ronnie. What a great guy with a great family. I went to Ronnie's party after the Dallas show and I feared that I would not see him again. He was a dear friend. He will always be in my memory. Rest in peace Ronnie.

It has taken me a while to post - Last year after the March Dallas show I went down to Ronnie's and he played the steel but with much pain and effort.
The first time I met him it was like we had been friends for ever. Great guy --- great steel player and he always said when I was introducing him - "Tell um Joe if they don't like country it is time to leave" and flash that half smile and say again "Tell um"
The first time he went to Baxter Springs was the first time I was there - between he and his brother they told those guys that I would emcee their show "no questions ask" well I have been doing that ever since.
Our thoughts and prayers go out the the entire family - and thanks for for being a great friend and introducing me to so many of your friends. With out fail he would say, "This is my good friend Joe he is a great guy ---- he lives out in Phoenix but lived in San Antonio before that" ---yep it IS a Texas thing.
You will be missed.

My heart is heavy.....we all knew this was coming, yet that does not ease our feeling of loss. Ronnie's pain is over now, and he is in a much better place. I got to know Ronnie, Patty, Dennis and much of the family in the past few years; Ronnie and Dennis came to PHX to play our SWSGA show as long as he was physically able. He epitomized country steel guitar, and loved every minute of it. I am much richer for having known him and his great family. Rest in peace, Ronnie; your work here on earth is done.

I was introduced to Ronnie by Fred Justice. I only knew Ronnie a few years, but we always shared some good laughs and stories on the rare occasion that we had the opportunity to visit.
His passing saddens me, but I find comfort in knowing that he won't suffer any more pain.
My sincere condolences to his family and many friends. |

While I did not know Ronnie very well, I felt I came to know him this past March at the Dallas steel guitar show when I gave him a copy of this picture I had taken of him last year. He was very pleased to have received this print. My sincere condolences to Ronnie's family. Jim Harrison

I only had the privilege of hearing Ronnie twice at the TSGA show in Irving, and his work backing up a vocalist was as good as it gets! He had an uncanny sense of what to play when to play it, and when to let the singer sing! I've always felt the best players knew that, in a band setting, Pedal Steel was icing, not cake. I'm the richer for having heard his tasteful playing. Vaya con Dios Amigo. _________________ Justice Pro Lite 3x5. Very sorry to hear of Ronnies passing, he was a wonderful player and the Sheraton house bar didn't quite seem the same without him and his brothers band cranking it up in the back.
It was nice to catch up with him briefly in March in Dallas - RIP mate _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9
