I just found this full length movie on youtube. The Million Dollar Weekend made in 1948. It is mildly film noir and has some location footage in Hawaii at the time. Most of the scenes at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel are not sets. The music is good with one outstanding scene of the Serenaders consisting of Benny Kalama, George Kainapau, Alvin Isaacs, and Tommy Castro on steel.

David, thanks for the heads up about the film. I was able to edit out the unimportant parts.

Here is the all too brief scene with the Royal Hawaiian Serenaders.

Tommy Castro (steel guitar and low-end vocals), George Kainapau (ukulele & falsetto vocals), Benny Kalama (standup bass & falsetto vocals), and Alvin Kaleolani Isaacs (guitar & mid-range vocals).

Nicely done Norman. I was unable to download the movie. The film has some redeeming features. Scenes on Nu'uanu Pali etc are location shots and there is some nice background music presumably by the Serenaders in several others. I have come to the conclusion my favourite movies are in black and white. Laughing

You are right David, as I was being a bit facetious. There are some nice scenes of old Hawai'i. I especially liked the ocean/surfing scene.
