Does anyone know if Buddy Emmons made a recording of When I Call Your Name,
apart from the one that is on YouTube at the convention? He does a beautiful arrangement of this Vince Gill tune &I would like to hear a version with better quality sound if one exists.

I'm thinking that particular performance might have been a one-off. If that's the case then yes, the answer is no.. Confused Shocked

Ernie & Buddy, thank you. I am really taken with this sensitive interpretation of this great Vince Gill song. It really suits steel guitar.

When Buddy did this song at the ISGC in 2007, it brought the house down.
Upon leaving the show, Linda and I went to Roy & Barbara Rosetta's house in Texas.

We were discussing this song and I mentioned that I planned on trying to learn it.

So I called Buddy from the Rosetta's and asked his permission and if I could get a copy of the rhythm track he had sent the band to learn this song, telling him I was in no hurry.

Lo and behold, when we returned home, there was a package (Next day shipping) waiting for me.

In it was the chart, the rhythm track and the track you heard hear of Buddy playing this song at home.

Plus it was signed by Buddy.

Dreams do come true.

Needless to say, this is framed and on my music room wall.

What Ernie said...Long live the "Big E"

Bill F., don't feel bad, no one can come up to Buddy's touch, tone, etc. When you hear it, you just know it's him.
