Sometimes it helps me to slow down a part that I'm interested in. Hope this works!

Steel break at 50% speed...

This was done using a Youtube to MP3 converter and
The Amazing Slowdowner by Roni Music, both useful tools in my opinion.

I realize it's a "no brainer" for an experienced player...I'm looking for maybe a little help on "moving parts" and such...

BTW, thanks Mr. Sexton, that is the song I'm asking for the tab to. I'm not even a novice, with barely a year of psg.

I can't thank you enough DS! That's REALLY helpful! I may have to look onto getting such a device. I don't anticipate having trouble getting to speed...now that I can catch those notes at that slower speed!

I played bass for 22 years. Haven't quite gained the proficiency on the steel that I've experienced on other stringed instruments. Again, thanks Dick Very Happy

hi Edward. I heard the SlowDowner is a great tool, too. I've been using the Riff Station. Either one, an who knows how many of these are out there, is great little tool and its opened up the steel a lot more for me since I started using that with a youtube converter. To think we used to wear out our records on a turntable manually slowing stuff down.

Hello Daniel, your definitely right about those records! They were nearly phased out(where I live) in the early 90's, when I started on guitar. Thank goodness I had an older brother! Of course listening to his records came with a price...he literally beat the crap outta me, for doing it! I still get paranoid and nervous when I hear a Steve Miller song! Ha! You know, he still won't support his little bro...musically...oh well, his loss!

Here is a link to Donna Hammitt's web site that offers tab for the song. She played steel for Bill Anderson.

http://www.donnahammitt.com/SampleTab_01.htm .

Hope this helps.

Thank you Richard!
My friend, Rod Dale, has opened shows w/this number for 40 years. I'll be going to the studio with him, probably late Sept.(for basslines & backup vocals). I'm hoping to learn this song and few others on steel...if I'm able to pull it off! I'll likely have a fiddle part on it as well. Wish me luck guys!
