Wow! Deal of the century! That guitar sells for twice that new! If I didn't already have a Royal Precision, I'd take a hard look at this one. |

Several folks haved asked about the age of the Mullen. I don't happen to know how old it is. I've had it for twenty months and I bought it second hand, with the George L pickup already installed in the E9th neck. I'll soon post size and weight information and the copedent. There's nothing exotic about the configuration. |

The serial# will reveal the build date. Mike Mantey of Mullen Guitar company has recently posted that info here on the forum. |

I can't believe this guitar is still here at that price. That is almost half the cost of a new one. There has not been any changes since the R.P. came out. This is the same as one off the line today.
What a bargain. |

The instrument weighs 64lbs. in the case. The case measures 17" x 7.5" x 34.5". Interested parties can use this information, my zip code: 14616, and either the UPS or FedEx websites, or perhaps some other shipper's site to accurately estimate the shipping cost. |

Several folks have asked about the serial number. If the Mullen folks put one on this instrument I can't find it. They also haven't responded to my inquiry about where to find the serial number. May I ask why the build date is of such interest? Maybe someone in the community knows where I should look for the serial number.
Thanks,
Fred |

Fred,
The serial number should be at the end where the A pedal hooks up between the two necks. It is usually carved into the wood so it may be hard to see. If you look around where it says Made by Mullen Guitar Company you should see it there. Hope this helps. _________________ Mark T

If I'm reading the list of serial numbers posted on the Mullen site correctly this guitar was built in the year 2000. |

i can understand someone wanting to know how old their steel is, but in reality most steels made in the last 20 years are pretty much like a brand new one. most people don't play out enough to wear one out. and they are very durable. so aside from an older vintage model it wouldn't be important to me.
for that matter, even those made in the 70's like emmonn and sho-bud should be in fine shape unless someone has screwed around with it.....which, unfortunately, is happening more and more. |

Bump - And a big thanks to Fred, I purchased his MSA Universal and it was a pleasure dealing with Fred. I received it Monday 5/12/14, and it is a beauty.
