Last night on the radio Eddie Stubbs said Johnny Sibert played on Heartbreak U.S.A. by Kitty Wells. Did he play on any more of her songs or with anybody else besides Carl Smith. |

Thanks for posting this. He was one of my favorites. I hated to hear of his passing. After losing Ray Price, then Johnny, this year has been a sad one for good country music. |

Daniel, Sibert recorded for 2 decades with Carl Smith, and also recorded with Gene Autry, The Everly Brothers, Little Jimmie Dickens, Lefty Frizzell, and Johnny Bond. Not sure about Kitty Wells.
Michael and Joshua, thanks for your comments. Sibert played a simple style, but a style that was liked and appreciated by many. I personally enjoy listening to him on recordings and videos, and applying his style to some of my own playing when possible. Since I don't play pedal steel, I will always enjoy listening and learning from old recordings.
Happy New Year to All.
