About two weeks ago I acquired an Allen Melbert 8 string lap steel that sounds great, despite my playing. It looks great and sounds great. The quality is amazing, especially for the price. Soooo, today I decided to add to my collection and bought a Remington single neck. I will get it next week. I will post pics of them both next week. Of course at only 2, I dont think that would be considered many compared to a lot of you, but I am excited about the non pedal after about a 50 year layoff,,,I have been playing pedal steel ever since, but lately the non pedal sound has really gotten to me and I am enjoying trying to play the C6th again and learning. In the late 60s I had a quad Fender stringmaster, but I traded it for a Fender 400, as I had to have that pedal sound...wish I still had the quad. Anyway, just thought I would share my enthusiasm for the non pedal and looking forward to hearing a lot of good steel at the Phoenix show next month.
