I heard he played Magnolia. Jack Sundrud of Poco accompanied him. Did anyone else back them up on bass, drums, etc? Was Kind Woman similar to the Springfield version or a whole new take on it? What did he say in his acceptance speech?

He played the two songs plus one encore (can't remember the title). It was just the two, with David Russell on on fiddle on one track. They sounded great! Rusty played his road pedal steel (a single neck Carter) on two tracks and lap steel one one track.

His speech was mainly around the start of his recording career with Buffalo Springfield. He flew to LA with his Pedal Steel only to find out that it was broken, due to airline mistreatment. Luckily, Stephen Stills had a brand new Sho Bud in storage in the studio which he could use. The only problem - It had Emmons ser-up while Rusty is playing Day set-up. That's why he didn't use a lot of pedals on the recording , more blues type slides. "Looks like the boys loved it, nveretheless", he said....

Kind Regards, Walter

Rusty and POCO was a favorite band of mine Ive attended many shows and we actually did a show with POCO in Downtown Alton IL that attracted about 10,000 people, Rusty told me it was one of the largest crowds he had seen in many years, I hope and wish they will come back and play again at the ISGC, WE NEED HIM, and other bands that are playing the Steel to get back to the roots, his induction was so cool, I couldnt get up to get his autograph and i got a few pics, Rusty has a Facebook page at RUSTY YOUNG POCO....and his fan club is called the POCONUTS....Conrats Rusty Young....I remember them at MRF...frankly his steelin gives me the shivers its music is the best of my youth....
