I was just wondering where all the ZB Customs went. It took me a month too locate only three double necks for sale. Two were double tens, one of which I bought. They seem to be getting rare. The tone on these guitars are killer. Very unique ZB sound. Where'd they all go?

to really answer your question, you should contact larry chung. he has a very extensive list of zb's and i think he will post it sometime in the future. i've got a d-10/11 8x6, and i am aware of another pretty close to here (dave zirbel), so they are around, love that tone!!!!

I have the last ZB that was built. In fact it is not completed. I understand the Owner was killed in a wreck and the guitar was unfinished. Maybe someone has info on it. It is beautiful Birdseye Maple blonde finish.Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works

Hey Kevin, there are many ZB Customs still being played. I've had mine for 28 years. My good friend Billy Knowles is a great source for information, parts, and anything concerning this class A steel. http://www.masga.org/zbcustom

I've got mine ... all three. And I love each and every one of them. They all sound different, too, but goooooooood.

Check out the ZB post that I'm keeping on this Forum and I'm sure you'll find out more about their whereabouts!

Best,
larry

Hey, Kevin, there have been a number of ZBs on eBay in the last 6 months or so -- some beautiful and some kinda rough. They are still out there, although they seem to come and go in waves, like many items on eBay.

What a beauty, Dave. By "Greg", I assume you mean Greg Jones. He's refurbishing my '65 ZB Custom for me. If it turns out half as nice as yours, I'll be one happy guy. I know it will be great -- Greg does a super job! In the meantime, I'm getting better acquainted with my Mullen. It's a great steel, but there's nothing like a ZB. When I get mine back, I'll post pictures for everyone and we'll let the droolfest continue! Thanks for sharing the pics.

yes, B. Greg Jones of London KY. I think he's as fanatical about the ZB "sound" as I am, and that's saying something.

I am sure Billy Knowles and other ZB afficionados do fine work as well, but I can personally recommend Greg to anyone looking to get their ZB in shape. I salute everyone who digs into the workings of these fascinatin' old beasts and tries to bring them to their best possible functionality.

and yup, mine is a beauty... it makes me smile

thanks for trading Glenn!

I saw a white S-10 at a pawn shop yesterday for $575.00 in Mt. Vernon, Mo. It has been there for over a yr. I'm sure. The shop owner died recently and his widow asked me what it was and how much to ask for it. Looked average condition, and in the case.

Yes yes yes - I've still got my two, a D10 and an SD10.
Wouldn't part with any of them though.
I know a guy who lives not too far from me with just a body - I've just got to get to see what it's like someday.
