Topic: New Lap Steel Guitar from the King Family |

Greetings friends here in on the "Steel Without Pedals" section! Good to be here. For a long time, I have been asking my dad to build a lap steel guitar. He has built several over the past few years and while they are good I kept pushing him to make them better. Well, WOW! Wait until you see these new babies! I will have demos up very soon on these but for now I just wanted you all to check out these beauties. And let me tell you they sound just as pretty as they look!

As dramatic as the spurled one is, I've gotta admit a weakness for purple heart and birdseye or burled maple so I'd have to go with first one. But then again... 
I guy could get dizzy tryin' to choose between these works of art -- he really does beautiful work.
I'm anxious to hear them in action.

Ditto on the tailpiece/bridges. Does he fabricate those?

Thanks for the replies. I am preparing more info on these now. I can tell you there are variations between the guitars because we are just testing different methods. The saddle posts for each individual string is likely the most unique bridge. It's truly hard to say if there is any benefit there or not with regard to the tone and string separation. Certainly, it has a very unique look for a bridge.

| Definitely Zanelectro. The control pockets are very nice, and the knee indent looks like it will work well. |

| Johnie is a well spring of innovative ideas,,,they just keep coming!!! Beautiful guitars!!! I'd like to see one with a couple more strings,,,and maybe one of Jackson's palm pedals. Now Zane could get a ton of music out of something like that! |
