Martin, I have a Teisco EG-NW double neck steel guitar which I purchased directly from the factory in Tokyo, in 1953 while I lived in Japan.
Mine looks like a "National Console" and so is a completely different design from the instrument you have.
Teisco made may steel guitar models over the years in both single and double neck.
I like mine, it has a nice solid, balanced tone.
You don't see these very often. I think most of them
in the USA were brought back by servicemen.
Your guitar is a later model and completely different from mine.
When I visited the factory, it was a collection of small wooden buildings in the Bando Bashi district of Tokyo. The sign on the door said "AOI Sound Company."
They had no finished guitars in stock. I ordered mine, they built it, and I picked it up two weeks later.
There is a picture of mine on "Brad's Page of Steel." |

I may have forever lost the opportunity towards one of the oddest looking steels ever made, another weird style of Teisco steels, one with a huge
'melted' body w/faux wood finish and the favored gold foil pu's. Never seen another being pretty strange and makes the nice DT look sadly forelorn. |
