I have a Gibson Console Grand with 3 necks. The top neck is too treble and when I set the tone to more bass I lose my volume. Can someone help me with this?

Assuming there is nothing wrong with the pickup itself and the pickup height and pole pieces are adjusted, try stringing the neck with the heaviest strings on the neck with the weakest or trebliest pickup. This has worked well for me, especially on the Fender trapeziodal pickup models that aren't adjustable.

Hi Ron, About 6 months ago I helped a friend with a few problems he was having with his triple neck Console Grande. The top neck had a problem (though more pronounced) similar to that which you describe. I found in removing the pickup from the body of the guitar that the ground connection had become undone. Once it was back in contact with the pickup housing, the neck sounded great and the control worked as it should. |
