Up for sale are two vintage amps, a National 300 "Standard" built 1943-1947 and a Magnatone M-192-5 from the late '40s or early '50s. They're both in good working condition and fairly clean. They both have replacement 2-prong cords, but I don't know if either has been serviced recently; neither has major hum problems, so I assume they've been recapped but can't say for certain.

The National has a little fraying of the tweed covering and a replacement handle. The black mark on the grill cloth is a stain, not a hole. The amp runs on push-pull 6V6s and puts out about 10 watts through a very inefficient Jensen field-coil speaker. It has a single volume control and two inputs - no frills, but a warm tone characteristic of pre-War amp designs. It breaks up a little when cranked, but put a boost pedal in front and it screams. It barely gets loud enough to drown out a conversation, so it's a fantastic recording amp.

The Magnatone is quite clean for its age, with just a bit of wear around the corners. It has a replacement handle (or possibly the metal core of the original) and its original field-coil speaker. It runs on push-pull 6V6s putting out about 10W, and is roughly as loud as a Champ. It has a wider frequency range than you might expect from an amp of its era, and breaks up a little when cranked. It has one channel; the "master volume" knob is really just a conventional volume control after the mic input control. Another great recording amp.

$Sold for the National, including Paypal and shipping within the US. I'm not looking for trades; I'll consider anything you throw at me, but at this point I'm really trying to reduce my collection of gear. The best way to reach me is by PM rather than email.

The Magnatone is sold.
