Strayhorn Era Emmons LeGrande II, D-10. set up is 8X5, but I have the 9th pedal, and the crossshaft is in the guitar (P9). Original single coils.
Needs nothing, Emmons set up by me is perfect, with splits. Condition is Excellent.
Strayhorn Era guitars are the among the finest All pulls ever turned out by the Emmons Co.
Guitar is an Electric Blue mica..I hated the color so it's been covered in Charcoal/black carbon fiber car wrap..the best holographic (expensive) stuff with a slight texture to it. Looks fantastic. Like good carbon fiber. Necks and headstock are directly mounted to the mica with no wrap sandwiched in between.
The wrap does not diminish the sound at all, it sounds like the best of the best of all pull Emmonses. It plays like butter, holds tune and the appearance improvement is stunning. It now has the LeGrande II sticker on the front apron.
Price is $3300.SHIPPED (domestic) plus $50 for insurance. Conus only
Serious questions always welcome.

I'm sure this is a great guitar and would love to have it for myself. However, maybe if you would remove my name from the advertisement it would sell faster. Lol! I do appreciate the compliment. |

That wrap is an interesting idea. Never seen it done before.
What year or years were these Emmon Strayhorns produced? First time I ever heard of them. What makes them so special, if I may ask? _________________ Gibson Hound Dog, Aria Pro II Bass, Tatey Classic guitar, Peavey Basic 112 Bass amp. |

Strayhorn is not a model designation. In the 1990's Jack Strayhorn was the operations and QC manager of the company. He ran a tight ship and the the guitars were built to Ron Lashleys's design spec with real attention to quality and detail. They are among the best because of the attention to detail.
Search the forum: Emmons or Strayhorn for more info. for further discussion move to the appropriate forum section please, and keep this in instruments for sale.

I was there from January 1987 until October 2009. Most of these years I was the General Manager and supervised every aspect of the business. Ron Lashley Sr. had many health problems throughout my tenure and was mostly a figure head with the exception of being involved with R&D.
The instruments were being built with heart and soul during my time. |
