It was Jerry's playing that inspired me and really got me serious about Steel Guitar.
I wrote two instrumentals in his memory. One is on the Forum CD called "My Mentor". This is another
I composed on my E9/6 tuning.

In the past, I've always felt you incorporated entirely too much echo/reverb in your performances. I always found it distracting to ME.........while others may have enjoyed it immensely.
THIS SONG, on the other hand, could not be more perfect in my way of thinking. The song itself is beautiful and has intricate chord changes that really ad to its overall beauty. An exceptionally nice job.
The production/recording of this session was truly balanced and I like that.
Congratulations! Great work product. Nicely performed. |

Thank you Ray...very nice words and for the heads up on past sound clips. I use a Digital Delay and I do not check it before recording from time to time. The cleaning staff (me) move my stuff around and my settings get changed.
Anyway, It's nice to talk to you and I commend you on your site and all the work you do to preserve Jerry's music. He will always be the King in my books.
All the best,

For those interested in playing learning this song I posted today the complete tablature in the " Tablature " section of the Forum. Look for
Non Pedal Tablature at the top.

It seems to incorporate sections of Aloha-Oe into it. Or am I just hearing things ?
It's hard to believe that it's been eight years since Jerry died. |

Thanks for bringing the date to light, Roy; otherwise many of us would have missed the anniversary.
I didn't mean to be critical of your recording, by the way. I enjoyed your playing and the composition.

I was thinking about Jerry and remembered his special way of kissing the ladies: He'd stick his cheek out as af to invite a kiss on the cheek and then, whammo!, he'd turn and plant one on her lips. _________________ Excel 3/4 Pedal With An 8 String Hawaiian Neck, Sierra Tapper (10 string with a raised fretboard to fret with fingers), Single neck Fessenden 3/5
