Does anyone know how much weight I could save by removing the C6 parts and placing an arm rest in its place? Thank You |

Somewhere between 7 and 10 pounds, depending on how many changes, pedals, and levers are on the C6th. |

So, still a boat anchor, just a smaller boat. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

True, but built like a Mack Truck. Would be a great guitar for a young player who's strong like I was in my 20's. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Agreed. Great guitars. I like the tone, easy to work on, and solid. Thanks to Messrs. Yahl, Palenscar and Bradshaw, parts aplenty.
I sold my last MSA to buy my next MSA. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

1974 Classic unloaded neck and changer and keys and all, to S10 will weigh 45 LBS [without case] ..Loaded about 60-65. I just did mine about a year ago and used bathroom scales ''before'' and ''after''...That dog won't hunt with a bad back, so just hack that old coon hound UP! _________________ A.K.A Chappy. |

A lighter case will also help! In addition, I removed the back cover-plate from mine, and just left it off. (Trust me, if you have the mica guitar, it won't affect it one bit.) 'Course, if you like "purty", you could make an identical one out of thin wood, and then spray it with silver paint (and it would weigh almost nothing). I also cut the inner portion of the legs off, because all that extra tubing inside the outer leg really does nothing. (Aluminum legs are another significant weight-saving idea.) |
