Hi Bobbe, how are you my friend?
I (try to) play fingerpicking on PSG. Bobbe Seymour showed me the way on his fantastic video.
The reason I didn´t want him looking in on this question is that I do a couple of things he says you shouldn't. I play Universal ( a lovely Carter S12DB 8+ and I don't fingerpick on C6...more in the E9 realm.
It works for me Bobbe.
So here´s the question. Where can I get a bar thats long enough to cover ALL 12 strings. I really could use it.

I do a bit of fingerpicking on my S12U E9th, and have been using a 3.75" Black Rajah (the longest, heaviest, one they make as far as I know) with Nickle wound strings.
Most of the fingerpicking I do is as a solo, and I find that the Black Rajah on nickle strings to be the quietest combo with respect to string/bar noise.
I've also noticed that stainless steel strings wear the black stuff off the bar faster than nickle.
I also have a very large 14 string Sierra bar that works well (it's silver in color, not sure what it's made of).
The heavy weight helps eliminate string chatter also.

Hey Jeremy,
I also do Travis/Atkins style stuff on my S-12 Extended E9 Universal. I have all the regular 6th type pedal changes except I don't have the low B on string 12 and have a C# string at the 9th position. I find it's a lot easier to do things out of both E9 and B6 and mixing them together during a tune really makes it interesting. A couple of songs I do on a regular basis now are "I'll See You in my Dreams" and "Alabama Jubilee".

I highly recommend Jim Burden. He made a couple bars for me that are just fantastic. They've become my favorites and I think I'm going to have him make a couple more for me. An additional bonus is that he's a heck of a nice guy. Hat's off to you, Jim!
