I bought the book Pedal Steel Guitar by Winnie Winston about a year ago. Now that I actually want to work on it I find I do not have the CD. I have the LP that comes in the book which is useless without a record player. Would anyone be willing to upload the CD that I am missing? It sure would be appreciated.

Hello Hans,
As Winnie himself allowed to share the audio files, I put them up on my website with
a link to download the files for everybody who is missing his floppy disk.
Enjoy.... Very Happy

I thought I replied, but maybe it was to another question.
You wanna burn a CD for other folks?
I have NO problem with that. Just don't xerox the book!

Lyle, I appreciate you being willing to look for the CD. However, Kit, has provided a copy already. Thanx

Kit, vielen dank. Ich habe es gerade 'downloaded'.

All the best to you both.

I downloaded Pit's files of Winnie's book.

I clicked each file when it appeared in a strange window I don't see very often, and it looked like it was playing iTunes (but I had my speakers off Embarassed ).

Later, when I went to play one of the files, I got a "Can't locate this file" message. I put "Shenandoah" in the "Search" box - and nothing came back.

Where the heck are these files & is there a way I can just drag them to the iTunes library? Thanks in advance.

Frank,
I just downloaded my own file again to make sure the link above works.
If you right-click that link you`ll get a dialog to choose "save linked file as.."
Pick your download destination. If your browser has a standard folder for downloads already, you`ll find that in the browser`s preferences.. After that it will put a zip-file there (chances are that the zip from your last download attempt is already there).
Double-ckick that zip file and it will extract to a folder containing all the songs in mp3 format.
Hope that helps....

greetings
Pit

Actually, it's "downgeloadet." Seriously. Modern word treated in German as a separable prefix verb.

I also have the Winston files if anyone needs them.

That`s another one of those funny German attempts to adapt to the English language.

In German I´d say "heruntergeladen".... Seriously. Wink

Our public spaces are full of English phrased signs and commercial ads (for the sake of sounding cool and international) only to have them explained in German in smallprinted letters later..... Rolling Eyes

All the best to ALL of you guys!

I always thought it was a real nice gesture that Winnie gave permission for the audio files to be freely distributed. Saves a lot of headaches for us.

The Circle of Fifths always made me think of bar speedrack......

I almost forgot to say "Vielen Dank!" to you, Pit.

I managed to get the files safely over to my iPod, so now I can screw around with the file addresses to get them off my desktop and saved into my iTunes library.
