I have been having a strange problem with my LeGrande III (one that even the experts on the Forum couldn't help me with). When talking with Ron Lashley, Jr., he describes my problem as a "ghost" and has recommended that I send it back for Emmons to fix -- which is what I'm planning to do. However, before I do that (and go without my axe for a while), I thought I would check to see if anyone had any recommendations for a GOOD repairman in the Los Angeles area. I am having a problem that appears to be associated with the compensator system (which helps lowered strings return to pitch) so I want to find someone who would be familiar with those mechanics. Thanks in advance. Boo

Suggestions....
1) Blackie Taylor.

2) John McClung. I don't have the number but I think he's down around Long Beach/SanPedro.

3) Marty Rifkin. Call McCabes Music in Santa Monica on Pico to see if they have a number.

I would recommend Larry Petree in Bakersfield, he is also quite adept at fixing Emmons and other guitars. You can reach him at 661-392-1544 also give you a chance to stop and hear Buck Owens at the Crystal Palace if you plan an over-nighter..

I'm not sure if it's any help, but I have a Le Grande III with the compensators. If you'd like to look at it and compare the set up, you're very welcome.

I have John McClung's info. I'll check with him for you.
