John, I play that in our band. I've never tabbed anything out. Shoot me an email and maybe I can at least explain it to you.
I just do the intro and the ride (turnaround) in the middle.

Dick, not sure how to do this but I guess I can try and explain it in word form.
I'm only a newbie but I figured this one out on my own believe it or not 
Nothing fancy but gets the job done at least.
Just got home and have some things I have to get completed first. Plus the steel is still in it's case.
Will try and get at it this afternoon.

Keith, being new to pedal steel does not mean you are not or can not be "creative". Professional players of the instrument, do not corner the market on new and innovative. The best will tell you they look anywhere and everywhere for that "new idea" they can put in their bag of tricks. So, you may have just come up with something special we can all use. I for one am glad you are willing to share. And if it turns out, that it is not new or innovative, the process you have gone through to find it has increased your knowledge of the instrument and as a player. These exercises compound themselves one upon another, soon it will be easier for you to be creative. Ideas that hatch ideas... Now the fun begins. |

Well I finally got some free time and set up the steel. I don't have a tab program so I just printed off one of Nic's sheets and penned it in and then scanned it.
Hope this helps. Phrasing is up to the player, I just put in the pedal slides the best I could.
First 2 lines are the intro, the rest is the ride.

Keith, there is not a thing wrong with that. Great tabbing effort and getting exactly what you are thinking across to us. I printed it out and immediately was able to play it. Slowly at first, but doable. I like the use of the upper registers at the 13th fret coming down. Hats off to you my friend. Keep it up.  |
