I'm a long way from Country music living in a part of Sweden that holds Status Quo, Stones and CCR as the only thing you are supposed to listen to.

So I would appreciate if you could recommend some current artists, and albums, that uses Pedal Steel on there recordings.

Not Pedal Steel solo albums but Country albums that has Pedal Steel.

With current I mean albums that are available to buy!

All of Dierks Bentley's records feature great steel too-Gary Morse played on a few of those records. Danni Leigh's records feature great steel by Steve Hinson. Brad Paisley's records feature steel by Randle Currie and Mike Johnson. Paul Franklin plays on many country records now, and Josh Turner's records feature great steel.

All of Amber Digby's CD's have great steel by Dicky Overby. Lots of good traditional country singers and great steel (including Amber Digby, Darrell McCall, Johnny Bush) on the Heart of Texas website: http://www.hillbillyhits.com/hotrecords.html

Big +1 on Amber Digby. Also, might want to look at Ray Scott's "My Kind of Music"

Western songwriter and signer Joni Harms was just out your way last month, Anders, and used local musicians for shows in Denmark and Sweden. She has about a dozen albums and all of them feature prominent steel guitar, much of it played by Sonny Garrish and other top Nashville session players. Her western swing afinity assures that you will hear both E9 and C6 necks played liberally on just about every album.

Her daughter Olivia has a new CD also with some good steel and dobro parts. It's aimed at a younger crowd but has some old-fashioned country and songwriting that is 100% grown-up digestible. I'm pretty sure they are available on CDBaby but check their websites to be certain:
