I've had THREE different people tell me Jerry Wallace of TrueTone pickups passed away back in the spring, apparently having gotten him confused with the late lamented Herbie Wallace.
Jerry is still, last I checked, both breathing and working. last time I checked, he doesn't spend much time on the forum, he's too busy making and rewinding pickups. So I volunteered myself to remind everybody Jerry is still alive!
I can't help but think if 3 people said it, several more must believe it.
(B0b, it might not be bad to sticky for a month or two, as long as it remains true) _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Thanks Lane...I double checked all through "Gone home" and never saw it. Thank God he's still about. I'd only just e'mailed him for a TT for my old Sho-Bud Universal. Waiting for a reply on price including Postage to U.K. The TT on my Carter uni, I got from Carters when John Fabian was still alive.
Great pick ups the TT's

Jerry's pickups are on most of my guitars. Whenever I order a new guitar, I always request Jerry's TruTones.
Besides that, he's a fellow New Mexican. |

Yes Erv...they are great. What suprises me is with my volume pedal all the way open, I get no hum or any such thing which "some" get with single coils. I love the "seperation" with Jerry's pick-ups

I love his pickup too - but am I the only person who is getting pedal noise thru the pickup? If you aren't plucking strings you can clearly hear the pedals rattling away when pressed.

if I were you, I would get on the horn with him. While it is not unheard of for pickups to become microphonic, but it is a defect that he can fix.
as far as I know, all pickups are a little microphonic, but if it is bad, it can be fixed _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I am trying to contact Jerry also to order a pick up. I have used his pu's before several years back. He was a great guy to deal with. His website that I used before does not work any longer. If any one has any recent contact info I would appreciate your help. Thanks Dale |

As he's in the phone book (Artesia, NM), I guess it does no harm to post it (but I'll de-harvest it)

Just heard from Jerry, he is a little behind with his orders as he has just had an operation. He is back on deck again shipping orders. |

I ordered one on about Aug 29 and received it in less than a week. Can't beat that! _________________ J.R. Marlowe
