On Sunday June 10th 2012. at the Lakeside Park in South Norfolk (Chesapeake), Va. the 14th annual "Phelps Brothers Music Festival" will take place from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. Are You Playing With the "All Star Band" Again This Year?
If so I hope you have a great turn out!!.

Hey Howard, yes, I'll be with them on lead guitar and mandolin. On pedal steel we'll have Bobby "Muskrat" Reames, Garland Abbott III on bass guitar, Tee Meroney on rhythm guitar, Roger Gray on fiddle and Lonnie Godfrey on drums. Always a great turnout for this event, thanks for posting this.....JH in Va.

The only charge that I know of, is what the Vendors, charge for Food & Drinks!!.
I hope you get a chance to go, you will have a Great Time!! & Meet some Great Local People!! & Some of the best Music around.

Jerry, "Sun Starr" (Her Dad Is the Second Guy From the Left in the Picture Below), told me that she and some other friends was going to try to make it to see you as you & Her was Ole Friends.

The Phelps Brothers were local musicians/singers in the 30's, 40's, and 50's who went to Hollywood and appeared in movies with Ray Whitley, Tex Ritter and others. Willie Phelps wrote songs recorded by Jim Reeves, Ernest Tubb, and even Elvis Presley. His dauthter (Bobbie) and her husband Ed Beard, (former NFL player with the 49'ers), put on the event along with the City of Chesapeake. It's all outdoors and under shade trees so if you're in the area bring your lawn chair. Food and restrooms are available on site...
Pack some bottled water and git on over to Lakeside Park this Sunday afternoon 10 June, 2012. The show starts at 1pm. Hear the Best Country & Western and Other Music in Tidewater!
