To answer your first question, ask Al Brisco, he bought the Carter inventory.
As different from each other as they are, I wouldn't say ETS replaced Carter, except for being the guitar that Bud builds now _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

Very doubtful. While Bud designed (or at least helped) the Carter, it was John Fabian's company.
