| Singer Davey Jones just passed away from a sudden heart attack at 66 years old. Relatively young. There are more people walking around with blocked arteries than they know. Just ticking time bombs. I have had two heart attacks. Totally changed my life, diet, and exercise routine. Stress also. Bad diet will kill you. Smoking, lack of exercise, stress also. The American diet is full of fat, sugar, and salt. Extremely unhealthy compared to many of other world culture diets, which are much lower in animal fats, salt, and sugar. Cutting down on saturated fats, salt, sugar, and carbohydrates (pizza, beer) will go a long way to improve ones longevity. The sedentary life style also. I have had 3 friends let go and die suddenly from heart attacks. It's a national epidemic that's not being talked about enough. The American food industry does not want change. |

| Davey probably had a decent diet/lifestyle going, he seemed in relatively good shape, but there are so many variables that make your end of time that folks should just be sensible non-overeaters, lessen stress, and enjoy life. Other than that, it's out of our hands. The guy left a musical legacy that will be loved forever. |

There are a fair number of indications that our "natural" lifespan pretty much covers the breeding years, and the time it takes to raise the little ones up to their breeding years - around 40 to 45 your eyes start to go, unless you're unusually conscious of it your muscles, joints and everything else too. The reverence of elders that was so prized among some peoples was partly a result of there being so very few of them who made it past 60 or 70, the sabre-toothed tigers picked off the slow ones. By any method of counting, Alexander the Great was the richest man in the world, but it didn't help him get past 33. King Tut too - died of a broken leg at 18.
When you read about the 80-year-old who runs a marathon, he's just as much a freak of nature as Cindy Crawford's cheekbones or Roger Federer's tennis skills. I'm not saying "we all gotta go" in that excuse-full way, losing weight and dumping stupid kid habits like smoke & drink are a good idea, but declaring war on the passage of time can be disappointing, to say the least. I just pretty much count them ALL as freebies from here on out.  |

Not many people remember that Davy Jones was featured in a musical scene from Oliver on the same February 1964 Ed Sullivan Show that the Beatles made their American debut. RIP Davy!

I actually won tickets to The Last Train To Clarksville, way back when. It was a train ride from LA to Marina Del Ray, or something. There were bands in the train cars, and a performance of the Monkeys at the beach. Fun times.
