Has anyone heard or played "Very Superstitious" on PSG? I was just hearing the original and thought how great it would sound in steel! I know most PSG is country even after all the attempts to break genre (jazz, Steely Dan, et al.) but it just sounds like a great idea. Maybe after I clean my steel I should try it. Hopefully somebody already has.

Go for it Alfred. I do several Stevie songs as steel instrumentals, but haven't tried that one.

The hook sounds largely like synth, but no reason you can't do it on steel.

I'm interested in hearing your treatment of it. Keep us posted.

I used to do a reasonable facsimile with a Steel Rider synth rig on my 12 string uni Sierra with the clav patch on a Roland 880. I still have that rig but it doesn't work anywhere near as well on my Excel. Shoulda kept the Sierra even if just for how well the midi rig worked. But the Superstition lick itself lays pretty easy on C6(or B6)as I recall.

Not pedal steel, but there are a few youtube videos around of Ben Harper covering the song on lap and slide guitar. I believe it would be a good tune to jam over.

I like to mess around with it on S12U.
I play it on the 1st fret (to get some hammer-on action).
I base it out of a C7 chord on the first fret with E's lowered and the B pedal enguaged.
