Gibson J 50 acoustic guitar for sale, mahogany back and sides,solid spruce top with great grain and coloration Brazilian rosewood fingerboard,good frets. ,original tuning keys, yellow lined hard case with key.These guitars came from Gibson with a rosewood bridge and adjustable ceramic bridge saddle,( I understand what Gibson was trying to achieve but it just does not work ) So I had my luthier remove the ceramic bridge and hardware and then fill in the oversized bridge slot with rosewood ,reslot the bridge and make a new bone bridge saddle, Perfect J 45 style guitar ( actually these are fancier J45’s as they are multi bound and have better quality top woods) for the client that has been searching for an affordable and somewhat vintage Gibson but wants a spectacular guitar at a great price.I like the gold Gibson logo against the grain of the headstock and prefer the factory original small black pickguard myself. Very affordable vintage Gibson acoustic guitar, Very fine shape, great Gibson tone , very good projection. The J-50 wasn't introduced until after World War II. Decent wood supplies were easier to come by, so Gibson didn't need to resort to using imperfect wood on its instruments. This better quality wood justified the production of the natural-finish J-50, as there were very few flaws which needed to be covered up by a sunburst finish. Gibson did continue to produce the sunburst J-45, however, and it is still an important part of Gibson's production line today.$1650.00

Nice looking guitar:
can you check a few things for me?
Is this guitar pre- double x bracing and big diamond shaped bridgeplate?
Also the bridge saddle looks low in the photo, did your luthier say anything about the guitar being borderline regarding a neck set?
Any cracks?

I will look inside her and see Russ, It is X braced, I don't know what double X braced would be ? Gibson guitars were X braced or ladder braced if memory serves me correctly.Bridge saddle was cut to replace the ADJ. bridge saddle as seen in pictures the original huge bridge slot was filled in with solid rosewood and recut.Plays well as is ,I do not think it requires a neckset.
