Newbie here has a dilema and a puzzling one at that. While doing some songs using tracs, I could not find the right chord I was out of tune and when I did finally find it I was between frets. I am in tune according to my Stroboflip and my Newman tuning instruction DVD. So whats up with this? Is buying these play along tracs a gamble? And how can you be sure that they are good quality? Somebody help me with an answer and some good buying advice. Thanks in advance. Peace out. Sad Confused

If you are going to spend most your time playing to backtracks, you need to invest in getting a CD player with variable pitch control.
Cassettes are the worst offenders.
Another shaky one is a track converted to mp3 at low bit rate. A bit rate of at least 256 bit is ok, assuming the original wave file was in pitch. You are welcome to send me a PM if you need more info on this.

Why not make your own tracs with Band-in-a-Box? I've never had a problem using that program.

It's the responsibility of the producer of the tracks to make sure they're at the proper pitch. All of mine are at A=440, and I've had no complaints.
