I am considering offering private lessons through Nicholson Music in Folsom, CA (just east of Sacto a bit). I can offer beginner to advanced instruction on E9, and an introduction to C6, particularly western swing. I am primarily a palm blocker, but I welcome pick-blockers, and I will not try to convert you. (I'm working on this technique myself; just not yet qualified to teach it.)

Samples of my teaching style can be viewed on YouTube: just put in my name "Paul Sutherland" and the word "steel" and you should find my videos.

I gave private lessons back in the 70s in San Diego, CA, and my students all seemed to progress well. I know I can teach.

Is anyone interested?

Paul... I took lessons from you in San Diego in the 70's... First class lessons from a first class steel player. Still play some of that stuff. Does OBS and black mountain rag ring a bell? ... Thanks Paul

I would be very interested in taking lessons from you. What do you charge per lesson? I live in Rocklin.

Kevin: I vaguely recall playing those tunes, but I don't remember every using them in my teaching. No doubt the 30 plus years is a factor; or is it early onset dementia? LOL

Mark: The details with the music store have not been finalized. Would you please send me a PM with your phone number and email. I'll get back to you soon.

Lessons will be $100 for four lessons per month, 1/2 hour per session. The time slots available at the store are between 11 and 2 pm Tuesdays, Wednesday, or Thursdays. Anyone that can't make those time periods can contact me for other times, i.e., nights or weekends, for lessons at my home. The downside to that is you'll have to drive an extra twenty miles to Placerville. The upside is I won't be watching the clock very closely.

Hey Paul, If I were closer I would jump on this, but I'm not. I like your attitude on your Youtube videos and have learned from your teachings( I don,t feel inferior). Anybody that takes advantage of this will greatly benefit. Maybe SKYPE one of these days. Good fortune to you and all that you mentor. Very Happy

Ray: Thanks for the words of support. Regarding SKYPE; I guess I should move into the 21st century. Maybe someday. Take care. Paul
