I can just barely remember my folks watching that show on television.

This video is kinda fun, and the audio seems to be better.

The You-Tube's are not file save-able. Again, I really need a mp3 of this song where I can download it and put it in my computer file. I have a project I'm working on where I need this tune to mix in.

If you do a Google search you can listen and download it from HERE?

The story of that tune is that the producers of the show didn't want to pay royalties to Bobby Troup for his "(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66" song, so they asked Nelson Riddle to come up with an original song for the show, and he basically ripped off Nat King Cole's piano solo from his hit version of the Bobby Troup song.
I'm not sure if I would call "(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66" a Western Swing song, sure Asleep At The Wheel made it on to the charts with it, but about 50 or so Blues, Pop, R&B, and Rock bands have all had bigger hits with it. From Nat King Cole, Mel Torme, Perry Como(the only hit version with the complete Bobby Troup Lyrics) to the Rolling Stones.

The show airs on digital TV every afternoon here. It's either on RTV or Antenna TV, I forget which. Stars George Maharis and Martin Milner.

I was always a big fan of the "Get Your Kicks" on Route 66 even back then, so it always annoyed me that they didn't use that one as a theme song for the show.

I've loved that theme song since I was a little kid watching TV with the grownups! The theme from "Mr. Lucky" was another one that made me feel real jazzy . Cool

Thanks for reminding me about it!
