A little video clip from my newest pedal steel. Recorded with el cheapo camera. The audio/sound quality matches up with the picking quality in fact Smile
Anyway here it is. This is with an Alumitone pickup. Next test will be with a Tonealigner.

Bent!! Grab somebody you know with a camera that will do justice to your craft, you put many hours and such personal effort into these fine instruments, please don’t put them and yourself down at the podium with anything less than perfection! Let’s see and hear your work in the manner it deserves!

I sincerely hope you are not offended by this reply as I have such a great deal of respect for you and could have put it in a personal message but I feel strongly that it needs to be said publicly. You do such fine work, more than worthy of quality production and respect!

I feel your passion bro, forgive my unique and uncharacteristic reply! ‘tis only because I care!

Keep up the good work! Bob

Bob Thank you for the straight talk. I agree 100% that is what should have been done. I am not offended, but take your words to heart. You are a craftsman in the truest sense and I know you tell the truth when you say what you say. Thanks for listening and advising!

Well Bent, all I can say is what a "Beauty," and it sounds every bit as good as it looks. (Nice backing track by the way.) I reckon your guitars are going to be in big demand soon so you'd better get yourself a centre lathe as well as the milling machine.Congratulations Bent, and by the way the latest youtube was with the new changer. Keep building.
Dave.

Dave thanks so much for the kind words. The music is what it is. When I build I just don't have the energy to practice as well. In other words, I have barely practiced for 6 months, and it shows.

Let me take this opportunity to thanks all of you who wrote me privately with your support.

Nice to hear the new changer. Do YOU like it? Did it go together the way I suggested or did you make changes?
I am still so tickled at having you for my guinea pig. Sure was a wise choice to build the Singing Maple for you!

I am looking forward to meeting you in 4 weeks time in Norway and seeing this steel too. Hopefully I can have a little pick on it too.

Best wishes, David.

I tend to agree, but the only way is to record audio separately and capture the video, and sync sound to video. Any PC will do this easy with movie maker. A PC will record the audio too. A decent input is what's needed from what's being recorded. Either a half decent microphone or better still run the backing track through a cheap mixer with the steel too then out of the mixer into the PC.

Simple, but just takes a few more minutes.

I am sure Bent knows this too.

I have tried a few camcorders, the best for audio are the old sony ones with a mini dv tape in. They had really good microphones.

For audio. Look at the Tascam DR-07. That's what I use now. It doesn't get much better and costs very little..
For less than £100 you can get audio perfect in .wav, straight to PC in seconds.
Then movie maker for the movie.

Even more simples....

Hm...guess I'll have to look into Windows Movie Maker a little deeper. Didn't think it was capable of that.
Yes, David, see you soon and yes, of course you will be giving Blue a go. To my ears it sounds great with the Tonealigner.
I am working on a single coil as well. Anxious to try it.
I just know that Blue will sound great in that bus shelter in Kvalsvik!
