I have a gentleman who wants me to sell his old Emmons
SD-10 push pull. The guitar has some issues...
The underside needs a good cleaning, and probably some adjustment. I can't get the e-raises perfectly in tune
and the right knee lever left needs some adjustment.
Other than that, it plays OK and sounds like a push-pull.
The pad has a small tear in the tolex at one end,
and the fretboard shows some wear on the white edge paint. The case is serviceable, but shows lots of use
and wear. The whole guitar needs cleaning.
I know there is not a big collector market in steel guitars, but people like these old push-pulls... So,
what's it worth? Thanks for your comments and opinions. And, the top of the pickup is cracked...

Larry I don't know what the Emmons is worth now but I believe it's worth fixing. John Widgren in Ct. could make it play like new. As far as the cracked pickup, Harold Saunders refurbished two for me and they're great. I'd like to have that steel but I have this wife who just doesn't understand. |

Tommy Cass is a member of the forum and can answer all of your questions and fix your guitar. He lives in western MA and cleaned and set up my PP. It works perfectly now and looks great ! _________________ Emmons, Franklin, Mullen |

LARRY.....
I got to see some of the work that Tommy had done on a steel at Andy's jam in Albany this past April . He could make that thing look new & sing with the best of them .

In the current condition it would sell fast for $1500.
$2000 if someone really wanted it bad.
In great shape it would sell for around $2500, give or take a few hundred.
It's definitely worth restoring, and I'd advise to have an experienced expert do the work.
Just my opinion from watching the market, I'm not a dealer. |

Hey Larry
I was pretty close, price wise in the email I sent you.
There is an identical guitar in super nice condition now for sale on the forum for $2,350 shipped.
If I didnt already have two D 10 PP's, I would be jumping on the one listed.
It's a shame to see these great PP's dropping in value but I guess its a sign of the times.

You could end up putting a grand or two into getting it into shape, maybe more. Easy _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.

Gentlemen,
Thanks for all the comments, opinions and e-mails.
I'll talk with my consignor and see where he wants to go with this. He bought a used Zum so I thinks he wants to sell, not refurbish. I own 3 steels now so I don't need it. I'll try to have a price on it in a day or two...
