This Sunday June 25th, there will be a benefit for Justin Griffith, my friend, steel player and bus driver for Johnny Bush/Jonny Lyon, at the Cotton Club in Granger Texas at 4:00 PM.

Justin was involved in a serious car accident that left his eye and right leg damaged pretty badly.

The lineup is great! Johnny Bush, Johnny Lyon, Fenchie Burke, Darryl McCall and many others. Confirmed steel players on hand will be Bill Dearmore, Jim Loessberg, Steve Palousek, and myself....and hopefully more.

Please come and help our friend Justin if you can. He has no insurance, but plenty of bills, so let's help him out.

Thanks! JC

I'm so sorry I missed it. I hope Justin recovers quickly. I'll never forget My chance to jam at the Cotton Club back in 2003 and I owe it all to Justin for the invite. What a time we had! I hope the benefit was a success.

WOW! What a time we had! Bil Dearmore is playing his butt off after the motorcycle accident. He's back in the saddle and what great tone he has! Bill is one of my favorite pickers and favorite persons in the world.

He let me use his rig to play with J. Lyon, J. Bush, Dotsie, and Brian Colins!! I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to play with so many legends, and all in one day!! And man that rig sounds good Bill..the ultimate steel rig, my friend.

Also on hand was the great Jim Loessberg and my pal Ricky Davis. Ricky was hanging out and did not play, but I enjoyed the visit. Loessberg blew us all away with his great stylings on his vintage Sho-Bud.

It was a great day, and we raised a lot of money for our friend Justin.

Thanks to all for the well wishes. I'm still in shock. One of the best lineups I have seen. The crowd was great. About $10k was raised. Thanks to everyone who attended and played. You guys are the best. Special thanks to Bill Dearmore, Jim Loessberg, Jody Cameron, and Steve Palousek for playing with the artists and making them feel at home.
Also thanks Ricky Davis, Randy Gilliam, and Terry Pilant for showing up and hanging out.
It sure feels good to know I have so many friends.
Thanks again to all.
Best,
Justin

Jery - I was wondering if you would make it and disappointed that you didn't, but that's OK! I love the Jerry rig! Makes my life so much easier.

Justin - we all love you and I am proud to have been a part of this great event.

Thanks gang.
Today I start the process of rebuilding my eye. Let's hope it goes O.K.
Randy I'm not sure I have met you. If I have please pardon me for not speaking to you. I didn't mean it.
Roy Glaze sorry I forgot to add your name to the pickers that came out. I hate to mention names for this reason. Again I'm sorry Roy.

Justin, my Pal...my prayers are with you every day. I hope very much that your eye can be saved. You are truly one of the nicest guys I know in the world, and you certainly deserve to have both those peepers working, but remember, if they can't save it, you can always pick the steel using your good eye!

Randy, I also apologize if I did not speak to you...it was a hectic day, and I was really tired from coming off the road that week from Louisiana and points east.
Next time, please come and introduce yourself, and please forgive me if you did and I don't remember.
