It feels great to be moving forward again, though slowly. Here's one we refinished the cabinet. The metal polished up great. Infact, we never thought the cab OR the metal would turn out so sweet. This poor old 'bud was VERY challenged!! Here's a before surgery pic--- meet the Shobud from Hell!!

Wow! Someone's going to be very happy with this guitar, I would like to have seen the "before" pics. Classics don't die they just linger and wait to be revived.  Amazing what a little effort and diligence will acheive.  |

Thanx for the kind words, fellas, it goes to show, I'm not the only one who appreciates real craftsmanship---something rare these days. I'm glad to contribute---it's a labor of love for these cool old Shobuds.
Todd, Thanx for your link, and yes this is Todds Shobud from Hell!! Hope you don't mind me harvesting these before pics and directly posting them for viewers convenience. I lost the before pics when my computer died a few months ago. I was about to ask for yours, but you beat me to it. Ah-ha!!

Looks fantastic. Did you have to do any repair to the apron-to-top joints that sometimes separate on these old 'buds?

Believe it or not, this cabinet did not have seperation issues that are pretty common, Tom.

Hey Bud!
No twisters in your area? Hope not!
What I meant was the pedal and lever set up. The left knees seem to be in a kinda awkward position, and there seem to be 9 racks, with only 7 in use. I know you'll make everything shine like crazy! |

You're probably going to have a problem with women coming up on the bandstand, wanting to use the shiney end-plates as cosmetic mirrors when they want to touch up their make-up.
