I have to say that I am enjoying this season more than any and I have watched them all. The talent is phenominal this year and I see country music being encouraged and showcased. It was awesome to see steel on the stage with Scotty last night. Scotty, Pia, Casey and Lauren are all very good. I had no idea that Elton had so many songs that lent themselves to country interpretation. I thoroughly enjoyed last nights show. Gimmik or not, it was fun to watch. My opinion. |

Hey WTF, what happened to Jeff Beck last night? I killed an hour and a half waiting for him to come on "Classic Rock Night." The TV guide had him accompanying the kids. Did they make an announcement at the top that I missed??? |

I got so mad the other day..... someone told me that the Roadrunner and Coyote are actually good friends off camera. How ridiculous, I've seen them do such evil things to one another. No way they could be friends. I saw it..... right there on TV.

I'm so mad about Pia leaving. I took it for granted she was safe. I think the rest of America did too. |

It might be Hailey. I haven't cared for any of her song choices except when she sang "Blue"! She nailed the song.
My pick to win is Lauren! |

Not enough votes for Paul.
I liked Hailey and Casey's jazz duet last night.
Jason & Kelly sounded good and his steel guitar player got airtime and I heard him! |

As I live under a rock, I had never even watched 30 seconds of the show. I had been turned off by out takes of the horrible contestants in the auditions around the country.
After I saw the clip of Doug Livingston up front on steel a couple of weeks ago I decided to tune in. This past week I watched the entire show and was entertained since they all sang better than I do and the music was great. YMMV.
On a un-related note, I watch Dancing With The Stars because of the band and I am fascinated at how the choreographers take typical American pop songs and apply them to classic Latin dances. _________________ Bill Cunningham

Theresa, Jason's steel guitarist is Jay Jackson on his Sho-Bud Pro I. He played for Jack Ingram at one time.

I hated to see Casey gone so soon (again). I was actually hoping he would come in 3rd or 4th rather than win (or come in 6th or 11th place). That seems to me to be a desirable slot; all those weeks of exposure without being weighted down by the demands of TPTB (as is the winner). I enjoyed the songs so much on Carole King night. The songs alone were so well-written that I really didn't care who sang them. |

The last 2 standing will be Lauren and James.
I like James when he sings and not screams. My pick to win is Lauren! |

Jacob has to go. My wife and I agreed last night that his version of "Love Hurts" was the worst version we had ever heard in our lives. _________________ Mark |

thanx mark...love hurts , written by the bryants, is one of the world's best songs...until that guy butchered it!
james will win....pretty sucky group this season.
actually some good voices but no personality or soul.
jacob will do ok on broadway...he may even find a lover.
scotty is a total joke once he started with the smokey bedroom squinty-eyed sex object routine. he needs to go back to his gig at MAD magazine!
this last episode had some beautiful songs....but no good interpreters. |

I don't miss Paula, but anything resembling judging with some attitude and toughness has been tossed out the window with this crew.
Maybe the producers have instructed Randy, J Lo, and Steven that with Simon gone, they are shooting for a "kinder and gentler" image for the show? It's gotten to be a little too much toward the "Milquetoast" end of the spectrum on the judging.
Too bad for me, since I agreed with Simon probably at least 3/4 of the time.
I do enjoy some of Steven's wit - I hadn't realized he was so quick on his feet. Never was a fan of Aerosmith, but he strikes me as being a pretty good guy. _________________ Mark |

Scotty seems like a nice young fella, but he as a singer he strikes me as not having an original bone in his body. The vocal inflections remind me of a composite of Randy Travis, Josh Turner, Alan Jackson, and maybe a bit of the late Keith Whitley thrown in for good measure.
Imitation might be the sincerest form of flattery, but it almost sounds like he is thinking "to be a country singer, you have to make this specific sound, or that specific sound" with your voice. _________________ Mark
